DAFI Scholarship for Students Under Temporary Protection

Applications for the 2026 DAFI Scholarship are now open! If you are a student under Temporary Protection and enrolled at a state university in Türkiye, the DAFI Scholarship Programme (Albert Einstein German Academic Refugee Initiative) can support you throughout your higher education journey.

DAFI is a higher education scholarship programme run by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and funded by the German Government since 1992. In Türkiye, it is implemented through Türkiye Scholarships (Türkiye Bursları) in partnership between the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB) and UNHCR Türkiye.

What Does the DAFI Scholarship Offer?

• Coverage of tuition fees.
• Health insurance.
• Many other opportunities to help you succeed in your studies.

DAFI Scholarship Requirements:

• Hold a Temporary Protection (Geçici Koruma) ID document.
• Be enrolled at a state university in Türkiye.
• Have an active (AKTİF) student status.
• Not be receiving any other scholarship.
• Not hold Turkish citizenship.

GPA Requirement:

• First-year students: a high school average of 70% or higher.
• Second-year students and above: a university GPA of 75% or higher.

Required Documents:

• A copy of the Temporary Protection ID card.
• A personal photo.
• A copy of the high school diploma.
• A copy of the transcript.
• A student certificate (Öğrenci Belgesi) showing active status, issued on or after 10/09/2026.
