The DGS Exam
Can graduates of vocational/associate-degree schools continue their university studies in a faculty and earn a 4-year bachelor's degree? The answer is yes — through the DGS exam.
What is the Dikey Geçiş Sınavı (DGS)?
The DGS is an exam that allows graduates of Turkish vocational/associate-degree institutes (including the Open Education associate programs) and graduates of similar institutes outside Turkey (for example, Syrian ones) to apply and continue their university education at the bachelor's level. The DGS is an official exam organized by ÖSYM (the Turkish higher-education examination body). It is divided into a verbal section and a quantitative section, is held every year, and lasts 140 minutes.
