University of Kyrenia

The University of Kyrenia's mission is to provide high-quality, applied education that prepares graduates to work in vital sectors locally and internationally, above all the maritime, health and engineering sectors. The university aims to be a point of reference for maritime education and research in the Eastern Mediterranean and to connect academic teaching with the needs of industry. It also strives to provide a safe, international environment that encourages students toward professional discipline, innovation and responsibility.

The University of Kyrenia stands out for maritime programs that are unique in the region, such as maritime transportation, naval engineering, and port and maritime business management, supported by specialized training facilities and simulators rarely found at other universities. Its campus is in the beautiful coastal town of Kyrenia, with its historic harbor and castle, and living costs are moderate. Alongside its maritime fields, the university offers in-demand programs in medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, aviation and engineering in English and Turkish, with a preparatory language year and scholarships and discounts for high achievers. It also benefits from its ties to the Near East University group.
